Fixed Equipment Design and Specification

JSC Engineers can help in all phases of the design process for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and most fixed equipment applications. We will design and detail a new vessel for service, perform calculations, develop specifications for purchase, perform drawing reviews, as well as manage fabrication and inspections until the vessel is complete and operational.

Pressure Vessel Modifications, Re-rates, and Fitness for Service Evaluations

Our team has vast experience in reviewing and providing recommendations for in-service equipment. Re-rating existing pressure vessels constructed to codes as old as the API-ASME code, is one of our specialties. We can also review active equipment and based on inspection data, and provide remaining service life or recommend replacement. JSC Engineers can also provide designs, calculations, and detailed construction documents for in-service equipment modifications such as replacement nozzles or added attachments and pipe supports.

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for Piping, Pipe Supports and Pressure Vessel Nozzles or Attachments

JSC Engineers has the tools and software to perform complex finite element analysis on a variety of different applications. We can calculate accurate SIFs for non-standard piping components or branch connections, as well as review loads on pipe support attachments. Additionally, we evaluate and approve equipment nozzle loads, as well as design and analyze clips and attachments to pressure vessels.
