Project Profile
Bally's Integrated Resort & Athletics Ballpark – Central Utility Plant
Pipe Stress Analysis
Pipe stress analysis and restraint specification for the central utility plant serving Bally's integrated resort and the Athletics ballpark in Las Vegas.
The Work
Project Overview
JSC Engineers performed pipe stress analysis and support and restraint specification for the central utility plant serving the new Bally's integrated resort and the Athletics ballpark on the Las Vegas Strip. The scope covers plant piping four inches and larger, including chilled water, condenser water, heating hot water, thermal energy storage, and dry cooler systems. Distribution mains up to 30 inches carry more than 10,000 GPM through a shared utility accessway between the properties. Working in Seismic Design Category D, JSC's CAESAR II analysis addresses thermal, operating, seismic, and wind cases per ASCE 7-16. The team specified expansion loops and seismic V-loop joints at building separation joints, checked equipment nozzle loads against vendor allowables, and coordinated support locations in the project's Revit and Navisworks models.
