Pharmaceutical Plant – Building 25 Pipe Rack
Pipe Stress Analysis
Pipe stress analysis for water and steam services on a pharmaceutical plant pipe rack in St. Louis.
The Work
Project Overview
JSC Engineers performed pipe stress analysis for a pharmaceutical manufacturer's Building 25 pipe rack in St. Louis, Missouri. The scope covered water services from 3 to 16 inches and 6-inch stainless steel steam piping. The work followed the owner's corporate engineering standards, including Process Industry Practices stress analysis and pipe support criteria with site-specific addenda. Requirements included prohibitions on cold spring and rotating equipment nozzle load criteria per API 686. CAESAR II models produced restraint and support load tables for the rack steel design. The analysis was coordinated through multiple issue packages, from initial modeling to issued-for-construction isometrics.
