Project Overview

At a newly constructed food and beverage production plant in Glendale, Arizona, JSC Engineers performed pipe stress analysis for a steam line added during construction. The Class 150, 304/304L stainless steel system operates at 340 degrees F and 130 psig. It was analyzed in CAESAR II to ASME B31.3-2018 under sustained, thermal expansion, occasional, and hydrostatic load cases, including support lift-off rechecks. JSC designed supports welded directly to the piping and coordinated restraint loads with the project's structural group. The sealed report included isometrics, code compliance results, the restraint summary, and support details for the design-build delivery team.
